Anecdote

When I woke up that morning, I thought it would be just another ordinary day. It was the middle of the summer and I decided to go running early that morning, before the sun had risen enough to create a sticky atmosphere. My mind was still in dreamland when I was leaving the house and, suddenly, I realized that I hadn't taken my keys! It was too late... The door had shut before I could push it with my hand. "Oh, well, it doesn't matter! Mom will be awake when I come back and she'll open the door for me". I couldn't have been more wrong.

Afterwards, I went to the forest to do my training. I enjoy going there in the summer because of the many trees that shade my way while I'm running. That day, for the first time, my foot got stuck in a hole and I fell on the rocky path. One of the rocks cut my skin deeply and, in the blink of an eye, my arm was covered with blood.

Panic and anger made my body shake while I was making an effort to stand up. I tried to go home as fast as possible but soon I started to feel dizzy, and I had to rest twice before I reached my frontdoor. I rang the doorbell over and over again with no response from anyone inside my house. "Oh men, what else can go wrong?!" I thought desperately. I tried to calm myself and consider my options, but my arm kept bleeding, I was alone, and there were no hospitals near home... What could I do?
